Tips for Installing Driving Lights and Lightbars

Driving Light or Lightbar?
Looking to install Driving Lights or a Lightbar to your vehicle but don't know where to start or how to go about it?
Well, we have some easy tips to help get you started!
Headlights
Remember that connection to the headlights is required. This because your headlight switch will be operating your driving lights or Lightbars. When you turn the high beam on in the car, your driving light and lightbar will turn on as well!
Usually, it's a simple plug-in connection that goes to the headlights and it's done via different types of headlight adaptor kits - either by globe specific adaptor kits (for H1, H4, H7, H9, HB3, or HB4 globes) or, vehicle specific wiring adaptors kits that connect directly to the headlamp wiring harness in your vehicle.
Lamp Connection
The next step is to get the connection to your driving light or lightbar. Here, the lamp's lead provides a connection to your driving lights or lightbar, usually through an adaptor harness. To do this, it simply plugs-in between the deutsch connector and your lamp. Different adaptor kits allow for different connection setups e.g. 2x driving lights, 1x lightbar, 2x lightbars, or even 2× driving lamps with 1x lightbar.
Switch
This final part deals with the wiring harness and how it works with the switch. You'll usually find that the wiring harness is supplied with an on/off LED rocker switch, or alternatively, the loom could be supplied with a switch adaptor harness. This would allow you to be able to connect with vehicle-specific switches. The advantage of working with vehicle specific switches is that there is no need to modify the dash of the vehicle, because the switch will match or look similar to the existing switches already fitted in the vehicle. This saves time when you don't have to drill any holes! Either way, you're wiring up so the switch used will do the job required.
